Participation

In-person attendance is by invitation only. Join us online in English via streaming.

Join us on 29 April for the next Una.Lecture, where Universidad Complutense de Madrid will bring Una Europa closer to secondary school students who will soon enter university.

In addition to learning first-hand about the joint degree programmes offered by the alliance, participants will explore its six Focus Areas through talks, games and interactive workshops.

Join the open session online, in English, featuring short talks on One Health, Sustainability and AI delivered by Universidad Complutense de Madrid professors actively involved in the alliance’s academic Self-Steering Committees.

About the Lecture

As part of our Una.Lecture series, Universidad Complutense de Madrid will host an outreach event aimed at secondary school students from several public schools in Madrid. More than 150 students are expected to attend.

The first session (10:00–11:30), held in English and streamed live, will include an introduction to the alliance and its joint programmes, followed by three outreach talks by Complutense academics involved in Una Europa´s academic Self-Steering Committees:

  • Integrating sustainability into university studies, by Professor Álvaro Ramírez García (Faculty of Biological Sciences)
  • Antibiotic resistance: One Health on a shared planet, by Professor Bruno González Zorn (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine)
  • Artificial Intelligence in a sustainable environment, by Professor José Ángel González Prieto (Faculty of Mathematical Sciences)

Following a short break, students will take part in interactive workshops. These hands-on sessions are designed to give the students practical insights into the alliance’s six interdisciplinary Focus Areas and to engage them with current scientific and societal challenges.

About the Una.Lecture series

Designed to foster dialogues between academia and the public, the Una.Lecture series gives you a glimpse into the incredible breadth and depth of expertise, insights and perspectives found across Una Europa's partner universities.

This lecture is delivered as part of our outreach activities initiated under the Una.Futura project.
