On 14 November 2019, Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne will host the fourth UNA Europa workshop on the ambitious initiative of “Heritage of European Universities.” This fourth workshop will focus on the theme of “Heritage of University libraries”.

This fourth workshop will bring together researchers, librarians, heritage specialists, managers and lawyers to address from different disciplines the challenges and opportunities facing the heritage of university libraries.

Launched in the framework of the European Year of Cultural Heritage in 2018, the workshops have focused on various elements linked to the Heritage of European Universities:

  1. “Heritage of European Universities: Responsibilities and potentialities”, November 2018 in Leuven
  2. “Heritage of European Universities: a resource for European cities”, December 2018 in Paris
  3. “Heritage of Knowledge and Sustainable Management”, June 2019 in Bologna.

Cultural Heritage represents one of the four priority focus areas of the UNA Europa alliance, along with European Studies, Sustainability and Data Science. These focus areas have been chosen based on UNA Europa’s vision and values to address societal challenges and constitute the initial thematic ‘glue’ that ties the member universities and most of their faculties.
