Una Europa for Society: Showcase of Una Europa's outreach events in 2025

Next to teaching and research, outreach is the third pillar of higher education. At Una Europa, outreach to society plays a crucial role.

In 2025, our Una.Lectures focused on topics such as Citizen Science projects on campus, students as researchers and the future of the Sustainable Development Goals, bringing together experts from our partner universities and interested members of the public to learn about our cities, universities, and our alliance.

The 2025 PhD Impact Award showcased the work of early-career researchers at our partner universities and gave our four winners the chance to be part of Berlin Science Week, one of Europe's leading science festivals. Academics had the opportunity to connect with the local ecosystems of the Una Europa partner universities to facilitate the development of public-private partnerships during the first in-person StartScience event. We again held events for the European Day of Languages as an alliance committed to multilingualism and spotlighted noteworthy buildings on our campuses as part of the European Heritage Days focused on architectural heritage.

To further strengthen our dialogue with society and stakeholders from the field of higher education, Una Europa participated in the annual conference of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) for a third year.
