Introducing the Una Europa Student Project Incubator

The Una Europa Student Project Incubator offers you the opportunity to develop your project development skills, network and collaborate with your peers across Europe, and gain experience in creating projects and initiatives that address real-life issues.

In the programme we incubate many different things, from ideas and projects to research proposals and business solutions. Facilitated group formation helps you connect with like-minded students from across the alliance, while the dynamic programme of workshops, online co-working, and final showcase encourages you to develop key skills and competences.

The exact format of the Incubator Programme is still in development, so the prize and results are changing from one Incubator to the next.

The Student Project Incubator currently runs 2–3 times a year, once in autumn and once in spring at a minimum. Each edition of the Student Project Incubator addresses a broader theme, accommodating diverse ideas and interests. The Incubator is an intensive programme, typically running over several weeks, and usually delivered fully online.

Previous themes of the Student Project Incubator have focused on Europe’s role in the world; exploring of peace and conflict; sustainability; multilingualism and cultural heritage; and immigration and inclusion.

" I’m so grateful for the opportunity to develop my project and bring it to life through the Student Project Incubator. Meeting people from different universities was a fantastic experience, and it was an invaluable opportunity to learn, collaborate, and grow our project in ways we hadn’t imagined! "

Sonia Łuczyńska, student at Universiteit Leiden, reflecting on her Student Project Incubator experience.

What can I expect from the Una Europa Student Project Incubator?

The Student Project Incubator provides a framework for you to explore and experiment with new ideas. There are some mandatory sessions to enable you to fully engage with the programme and receive a certificate of participation; however, the time and energy you commit beyond this will define what you get out of the programme. The Incubator is what you make it to be.

No previous experience is needed, and your interest does not have to lie in business or entrepreneurship. Instead, the programme is designed to give you a crash course in developing your own project and learning the skills needed to address real challenges you identify in the world.

Participants are expected to be respectful and open in engaging with others and mindful of different experiences and cultural contexts when collaborating. We are committed to making the Student Project Incubator an inclusive space for all to share and explore their ideas.

" The Incubator provides a great opportunity to meet new perspectives on the same topic, develop personal skills, and focus on the development of project that tackles something that is important to me. "

Practical details

The Una Europa Student Project Incubator is open to all students, including at bachelor's, master's, and doctoral level, currently enrolled at one of our 11 partner universities. No previous experience is required.

The Incubator format is still in development, so be prepared that each edition will look different. We are exploring different topics and practical approaches to figure out what works best for you, the students.

The prize will differ from year to year, depending on the topic and scope of the programme. Sometimes there is the opportunity to gain seed funding to develop your project further, other times it might be the opportunity to travel to an Una Europa event and present your idea to our community.
