Una Europa StartScience: Berlin Transfer Week 2023

Our Una Europa event at Berlin Transfer Week gives you the opportunity to present knowledge and expertise based on your research interests to companies and other stakeholders interested in investing in research, paving the way for new collaborations for impactful research driven by society. Additionally, you can benefit from other sessions of the Berlin Transfer Week to learn more about funding for collaborative projects and the services of regional transfer offices in Germany.

Don’t miss the chance to collaborate with key stakeholders from the public and private sectors on current sustainable developments in social, ecological and economic issues.

A combination of "start-up" and "science", Una Europa StartScience aims to connect researchers with the local ecosystems of the Una Europa partner universities to facilitate the development of public-private partnerships. Una Europa researchers can connect into an interdisciplinary framework of peers and present their work to local stakeholders such as enterprises, NGOs and start-ups.

The first edition of Una Europa StartScience takes the form of a pitching session at Berlin Transfer Week, an exciting event which aims to intensify exchanges and facilitate transfer between innovative businesses and scientists.

Submit your application to take part in our StartScience session and you will get eight minutes to pitch your idea for a joint project - individually or in collaboration with other Una Europa researchers - to key stakeholders and kick-start new collaborations beyond the world of academia. After our StartScience session, stakeholders will have the opportunity to contact you for bilateral meetings facilitated by the Berlin Transfer Week's dedicated online platform.

Taking place from 21-24 November 2023, Berlin Transfer Week aims to intensify exchanges and facilitate transfer between innovative businesses and scientists with a focus on the Berlin metropolitan region. As an online event, the Berlin Transfer Week is free of charge and offers you an intense digital networking week. Last year saw participation from more than 300 partners, from large enterprises, SME and start-ups to research institutions, freelancers and business developers.

Apply to participate in Una Europa’s StartScience session at Berlin Transfer Week on 21 November from 14:00-15:00 CET by sending us your pitch by 15 October (PowerPoint or Word document) to Marie-Julie Jacquemot via email.

We will organize a preparation meeting for all selected applicants at the end of October. You will then be assigned an eight-minute slot during our pitching session.
