Join us for our first Una Europa Talk on YouTube on 4 November at 16.30 CET. Our Talk is your Talk. Share your thoughts and questions in the YouTube comments, on Twitter using #UnaEuropaTalk or send us a message via WhatsApp or Telegram to +358 50 311 9811.

The Talk is an integral part of this year's remote #WorldScienceSummit Programme organized by the Berlin Science Week and Falling Walls Foundation.

“Resistance is futile. You will be digitalized!”

This slightly altered quote from Star Trek describes some academics' worst fears and others’ greatest hopes: The quantum leap in digitalization in the world of work as lately accentuated by the COVID-19 crises was only the beginning. The future of university life will be much more digital, whether we like it or not. How universities will be transformed along this process and how their interaction with the outside world will change are two of the key questions of our first Una Europa Talk.

In our live conversation broadcast from five European cities we will discuss what the future of digital cooperation in academia might look like. How will digital tools influence our teaching practices? Which virtual platforms and tools might academics and researchers use in the future? Will live networking become a thing of the past? How does virtual team building work? What role will AI play in developing new agendas and new practices? And is the human brain actually made for working in virtual worlds?

One student and three scientists from the Una Europa community, all of them experts in various fields of digitalization, will discuss these and many more questions live from our studios in Helsinki, Warsaw, Leuven and Berlin.

This Talk is the first in a series of “Una Europa Talks”, a format aimed at the entire Una Europa community, i.e. students, teachers, researchers and admin staff - as well as interested representatives from our partners and the public at large. To make the event truly cross-border and open, we will broadcast live from various Una Europa locations on our easily accessible YouTube channel.
