The Una Europa Seed Funding initiative aims to spark and support long-term collaborative activities between our partner universities, to "plant a seed" that will eventually attract external funding.

    • EnSMiRT: European Network for Sustainable Mining Research and Transfer

      The European Union faces a significant challenge: expanding mineral resources exploitation while restoring degraded landscapes. EnSMiRT seeks to harness expertise within the Una Europa alliance and foster collaborations between leading researchers to address this challenge head-on.

    • Generative AI Modeling for Extreme Events: Statistical Foundations (GAMEX)

      This Seed Funding project is focused on how extreme events such as floods, heatwaves, and other climate-related hazards can be addressed by bridging generative artificial intelligence (AI) and extreme value theory (EVT) to develop scalable, interpretable models.

    • Interdisciplinary Education for Sustainable Electrification and Green Innovation (EDU-SEGI)

    • Urban agriculture at the urban peripheries: Allotments, Community gardens and social struggles for green heritage (Greenher)

      This Seed Funding project, Greenher explores the heritage dynamics of allotments and gardens located on the urban peripheries of European cities. The project is grounded in the idea that these gardens play a crucial role in enhancing the urban environment through greening efforts, increasing biodiversity, mitigating climate change, promoting food education, improving dietary habits, and fostering community engagement.
