Alessandro Seguino, University of Edinburgh and the NEXTVET Summer School
Alessandro Seguino is Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety at the University of Edinburgh's Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and the first Una Europa Seed Funding Chair in One Health. In June 2023, Alessandro travelled to Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna to co-deliver the NEXTVET Summer School alongside host Alessandra De Cesare and a dynamic team of Una Europa academics dedicated to public safety and meat hygiene.

María García Hernández, Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Cultural Heritage at the Urban and Metropolitan Peripheries
Professor of Human Geography at Universidad Complutense de Madrid María García Hernández took a partial tour of our alliance in her role as Una Europa Seed Funding Chair in Cultural Heritage. She travelled to Kraków, Bologna and Edinburgh to co-deliver workshops for both doctoral and senior researchers, including students of the alliance's Joint Doctoral Programme in Cultural Heritage, to exchange views, share research and encourage future collaborations. María's Chairship culminated in an international conference hosted by Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, showcasing the successes of the workshops and offering space for our alliance's cultural heritage community to come together.

Jan Wouters, KU Leuven and creating textbooks for a University of the Future
As Una Europa Seed Funding Chair in Europe and the World, Jan Wouters applied his extensive expertise as Professor of International Law and Jean Monnet Chair ad personam European Union and Global Governance at KU Leuven to developing two textbooks to support core teaching for the alliance's pioneering Joint Bachelor of Arts in European Studies. Jan co-led workshops hosted by Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna to develop the textbook content, taking an innovative interdisciplinary approach by including experts from seven Una Europa universities from the fields of political science and economics, history, law, philosophy and governance studies.

Filippo Fontanelli, University of Edinburgh and helping early-career researchers to explore synergies between EU policy and SDGs
Filippo Fontanelli, Senior Lecturer in International Economic Law at the University of Edinburgh, spent his summer at Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna empowering early-career researchers to examine and analyse touchpoints between EU policy and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In his role as Una Europa Seed Funding Chair in Sustainability, Filippo delivered a course on, "The External Economic Action of the European Union and the Sustainable Development Goals" in collaboration with senior academic from six Una Europa partner universities.

Carsten Momsen, Freie Universität Berlin and defending against the inevitable sophistication of crime
Carsten Momsen, Professor of Criminal Law at Freie Universität Berlin, began his journey as Una Europa Seed Funding Chair in Data Science and AI when he met future collaborator Michele Panzavolta, Associate Professor in Criminal Law at KU Leuven, and they decided to join forces and tackle the latest innovations in cybercrime. With the support of Una Europa Seed Funding their project, "Future Aspects of Crime and Enforcement" became a reality, delivering a webinar series exploring how emerging technologies are adopted into the world of crime and preparing a joint blog, which will be launched at the project's final conference on 5-6 October 2023.
