Features -

The first Student Congress in February 2021 featured the launch of the Una Europa Prize for students. In April, the jury consisting of Anna Zanoli, Justyna Bugaj, Tommi Laitio and Pedro Enriquez de Salamanca reviewed the submissions, analyzing the videos and weighing them against the following award criteria:

  • Originality of the video
  • Overall quality of the audiovisual material
  • Overall message of the video
  • Depiction of Una Europa’s visions and values.

On 6 May, the three winning teams were finally revealed in a virtual award ceremony at Una Europa's General Assembly. Verena Blechinger-Talcott, Chair of the Board of Directors, handed over the prize on behalf of the Una universities' rectors.

3rd place: “The University of the Future We Want”

A team of Unibo students secured the third place with their video “The University of the Future We Want”.

Submitted by Davide Coppola, Roberto Perriccioli and Simona Capecelatro, this video convinced the jury with its emphasis on the social aspects of learning, the techniques employed and its "important message for the future very much based on our current situation."

2nd place: "Telos"

"Telos", a submission by JU student Arkadiusz Klej, was ranked 2nd by the jury.

According to the jury, “Telos” presents a relevant idea to a student-centric experience of the future university, which emphasizes the responsibilities of each of its members." Appreciating the video's "original and value-driven approach", the jury particularly pointed out the "academic thinking and originality" of the submission.

And the winner is: "The Symphony of the Future University"

The winning video by joint authors Maria Cipińska, Carmine Ceraolo, Eryk Lasek, Giulio Loforese, Giulia Salandin, Irina Ritvanen and Leo Valkama enthused the jury by focusing on a participative university that bridges different places. The truly European team composed of students from Bologna, Helsinki and Krakow received the following praise from the jury: "'The Symphony of the Future University' combines Una Europa’s values in a beautiful way, emphasizing different activities of the future university. There is enthusiasm and collaboration, even playfulness in the video."

Congratulations to the winners and big thanks to all creative participants! Numerous activities are currently underway at the different Una Europa universities to take on board the input and reflections of our students. Students can also participate in the strategy-building Una Europa 2030 and access the interactive portal where all stakeholders of the Una Europa community can share ideas and, at the same time, exchange with colleagues and fellow students from across all Una partners.

The prize was organized under the umbrella of 1Europe.
